Grounds for Belief

Weekly on Mondays
From 2-3:30 PM

Everyone likes a good book and a nice cup of coffee or tea!

Grounds for Belief is a new Ladies Bible Study in a casual, café-style atmosphere, where we will take a fresh look at the greatest book ever written: the Bible! The Bible is a complex book with an ever-changing cast of characters, time periods, and settings. Yet it all carries one message: God’s salvation. God wants to rescue all lost and hurting people, and it all points to Jesus as our Savior. By experiencing the Bible as a whole story, you will gain a deeper understanding of Jesus’ perfect love for you, that God had you in mind from the very beginning, and that there is great purpose for your life. So please come and join the discussion…it might just give you deeper “grounds for belief!” Contact Eileen Heide at This email address is being protected from spambots. Question of the Week

Week of February 17, 2019

Lk 6:17, 20-26

How do the “woes” in this Gospel give you pause?

We offer this form of contemplative sharing for pondering Scripture while considering the question, and for the faith sharing which follows.

-  Listen/ Read (Lectio): Ponder God’s word and listen for what touches your heart.
-  Meditate (Meditatio): Notice what you notice. Allow God’s word to resonate in you.
-  Speak/Share (Oratio): Prayerfully share with the group your thoughts and feelings.
-  Rest in God’s presence (Contemplatio): Notice God’s presence and be still, surrounded by God’s love.

In what way are you serving the poor, as Jesus did?

When have you helped bring God’s love to someone who was sad, or hungry, or whom others made fun of? Share what happened when you did.
