Care for Creation

Out of respect of the earth and all life as part of God’s creation, we bear responsibility to care for the part of the world we inhabit and to share and safeguard the resources that earth has bestowed upon us. In fulfillment of our mission, CFC seeks to inform parishioners about the carbon footprints we leave and how to lower them. CFC provides activities for people of all ages that foster increasing the safety of our environment for all living creatures.

Current projects include the Animal Welfare (AWA) recycled and new collection (Sept. 1 – Oct. 4), Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweep at Palmyra Cove (biannual), Green Kitchen Swap of new or slightly used kitchen items (biannual), and the Cherry Hill Clean-Up Grant (November).

Stephen ministers meet weekly with a care receiver who has experienced any loss or crisis whether it is the loss of a loved one, a job, a divorce, a move, retirement or even the readjustments that come with a new baby in the home. Stephen Ministers go through 50 hours of training and also attend twice monthly supervision group meetings after they are commissioned. If you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister or are in need of a Stephen Minister, please contact Julie DeMarco in the parish office.
