Rev. John Picinic is originally a New Yorker and then later residing in North Jersey. Born in Astoria Queens, NY and then moving to Fairview, NJ at the age of nine grew up mostly in the Northern part of the State until after his ordination which was on August 13th, 2005. Shortly after his ordination he began his ministry as a Priest in the Diocese of Camden.

Father John’s first assignment was at Bishop Eustace Preparatory School (2005-2007) as a chaplain and theology\religion teacher. Father John also served as a Parochial Vicar at The Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit (2008-2012) and then at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (2012-2014). Bishop Sullivan appointed Father John as Pastor of Holy Family in Sewell in 2014 and recently appointed him as Pastor of Christ Our Light.

Father John is an avid New York Yankees fan and a Notre Dame Football fan. He is slowly becoming a Philly Sports fan. Father John is a former teacher and basketball coach and brings much of those experiences to his priesthood, especially in his homilies and when opportunities arise to teach the faith.

 

 

Fr. Titus Joseph Karimattahil, O.Carm.

 Fr. Titus Joseph Karimattathil O. Carm., a member of the Carmelite Order (formally known as the “Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel”, often abbreviated to 'O. Carm.'), was born and raised in Kerala, India. Following his Priestly Ordination on January 3, 1995, he worked as a parochial vicar in a parish in India for a year. From 1996 to 1998, he successfully completed a 'Licentiate in Biblical Theology' at the Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy in Dublin, Ireland. He then moved to the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome, where he earned a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture between 1998 and 2002. During this period, he was also blessed with the opportunity to study for one semester at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He completed his studies with a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. 

Towards the end of his studies in Rome, he became engaged in in pastoral ministry in the Archdiocese of Cologne, Germany, from April 2009 onwards. In August 2017, he moved back to India, to take up the position of Rector at the Carmelite Minor Seminary. From 2020 to 2023, he served as Prior Provincial of the St. Thomas Province of the Order of Carmelites in India. After completing his tenure as the Provincial, he worked at the Province's Retreat Centre until December 2024, when he left India for the USA to engage in pastoral ministry in the diocese of Camden.

Fr. Titus feels blessed to serve the Lord and His people in Cherry Hill and is delighted to be in the parish community alongside Fr. John Picinic and the entire pastoral team. He hopes and prays that this will be a time of blessings from God for himself and for the parish community.

 

Rev. Varghese Srambickal V.C.

In Residence Priest

Rev. Varghese Srambickal (also called Fr. Sajan) is a priest of the Vincentian Congregation (V.C.). He was ordained on January 3, 2006, in India. His priestly journey has taken him through various parts of India and to Kenya in East Africa, where he had the joy of serving people from many cultures and walks of life.

Since arriving in the Diocese of Camden in 2021, Father Varghese has been serving as a hospital chaplain under Vitality Catholic Healthcare Services. He has also ministered at St. Joseph Pro-Cathedral in Camden and St. Andrew the Apostle in Gibbsboro. In his chaplaincy ministry, he accompanies patients and families across several healthcare settings, including Cooper University Hospital, Virtua Voorhees, Jefferson Cherry Hill and Stratford, St. Mary’s in Cherry Hill, and Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees.

 Father Varghese is grateful to continue his ministry at Christ Our Light and looks forward to serving the parish community with faith, joy, and dedication.

 

 

Deacon Joe Seaman

Deacon Joe Seaman, a deacon at Christ Our Light, comes to this ministry after serving as a deacon at St. Peter Celestine for seven years and as a deacon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Maple Shade for five years. Deacon Joe is also assigned by the bishop to minister outside of the parish community in prison ministry and teaches for both the Diocese of Camden and the Diocese of Trenton. Deacon Joe has a Master of Arts degree in Religious Studies from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, PA and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. Deacon Joe is an educator by profession with over twenty-six years of experience in education and religious education.

 

Deacon Paul Goebel

Deacon Paul Goebel has lived in the Delaware Valley for over 30 years. He met the love of his life in college, and they raised their four children in Woodstown, NJ for over 20 years before moving to Cherry Hill. Deacon Paul’s professional career is in healthcare, working for health systems in the Philadelphia area for over 25 years.

Deacon Paul earned his bachelors and Doctoral degrees in pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now St. Joseph’s University). He served on several pastoral committees at Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit, Mullica Hill and Woodstown, prior to relocating to Cherry Hill and joining the Christ our Light parish family.

 

Ms. Julie DeMareo

Julie has a BA in International Affairs from George Washington University and participated in a year of postgrad service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at Verbum Dei High School in Los Angeles. She taught a Social Justice course and worked as the Assistant Campus Minister at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, DC before receiving a Master of Divinity at Boston College. Julie also ministered to BC undergraduate students through retreats, the service immersion program, and spiritual direction. Most recently, Julie was a Chaplain for the medical, nursing, and public health students, faculty, and staff at Loyola University Chicago's Health Sciences Campus. As an alum of Bishop Eustace Prep, she is excited to be back in South Jersey with her husband and two children. Julie looks forward to building relationships with parishioners and the wider community as the Pastoral Associate for Justice and Community Outreach.

Nancy Douglass, OCIA Director, has been a parishioner of Christ Our Light/St. Peter Celestine Parish for more than 20 years. Originally from North Carolina, Nancy has spent the past two decades in Cherry Hill raising her three children with her husband Michael. Along the way, she has served in various parish and diocesan roles as a liturgist, music minister, and catechist. Nancy currently serves as the Managing Editor of Pastoral Music magazine..

Ginny Grogan is the Pastoral Associate for Elementary Faith Formation. Prior to the merger, she had previously served as the Coordinator of Religious Education at St. Peter Celestine for thirteen years. She has been a member of the parish for twenty-seven years. Ginny hopes to engage the children registered in our faith formation program and their families in activities that will generate enthusiasm for understanding the Catholic faith and for embracing what it means to live that faith.

 

Mrs. Chelsea Bucci

Chelsea serves as the Director of Family Catechesis as well as handling the sacramental preparation of our youth candidates and catechumens, and assists as a Ministry Coordinator in the Parish Office. Born and raised in South Jersey, she has served in ministry areas of discipleship, worship arts, and church administration for two decades. Chelsea received her Master of Arts in Religion and Bachelor of Science in Bible from Cairn University, and has a special interest in Historical Theology. She counts it her greatest joy in life to share the love of Christ and the richness of His Word with others. Chelsea loves her family, a good laugh, a great book, and a strong cup of tea.

 

 

Ms. Domenica Rosati

Domenica serves as the Associate for Youth Group and Catechetical Ministry here at Christ our Light. As a Cherry Hill native and devout Catholic, Domenica went through her faith formative years at the parish. Her background includes leadership in youth ministry, including middle and high school service and overnight retreats throughout NJ, small group discussion, and fellowship. Domenica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a cello concentration and certificate in Vocal Jazz Performance from Rowan University and sings at many local South Jersey churches. Domenica has always been active serving in the church throughout her life and finds true joy in serving others. Currently, Domenica is in the process of completing a Certificate in Youth Ministry. She is thrilled to serve the parish in this new position and to help the youth feel God’s love.


In her free time, Domenica enjoys going to the beach, playing her instruments, traveling, spending time with family, and watching basketball and hockey!

Cort Hrivnak, Assistant for Communications and Information Technologies, Cort received his BS in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University in 1998. He then worked as a IT System Administrator and Human Resource Benefits Specialist for nine years before returning to school. He received his Masters in Theological Studies from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry in 2009. Cort attended St. Peter Celestine School and has been involved in various parish ministries.

Mary Lou Lymper is an assistant for Lifelong Faith Formation. She has served as an assistant for Elementary Faith Formation for 13 years, but because of own children, has been a part of the Parish Faith Formation program for 30 years. She feels privileged to journey with the young people of our parish as they grow in their love for God, in the realization of how very much God loves them, and in the responsibility to treat all with compassion. Mary Lou looks forward to joining all the members of the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light as together, we continue to build the Kingdom of God with Christ as our Light.
