Lectors proclaim the Word of God during all liturgies. Preparation includes praying with the readings before the weekend, and individual practice of the readings. Lectors are trained through both the diocesan Office of Worship School of Liturgy programs and the parish. They are encouraged to practice at the ambo with the microphone, and to participate in various continued formation opportunities. Schedules are created based on individual availability and needs of the parish.
